Todd Rosser

Todd Rosser's '79 CJ-7

RosserI got this, my first, long awaited CJ-7 after watching my friend and relatives my entire life. I begged for a Jeep when I was in High School, but my dad always said toooooo dangerous. It was a strange reaction considering our family is in the Jeep business. In April of '97, I got this stock 79 CJ-7 with a blown up 304 and a locked up Quadratrac transfer case for $900.00. I put a new 304 from Jasper engines, and a like-new Quadratrac t-case in it just to get it running. Soon followed a 4" Pro Comp suspension kit, with Superlift leaf springs and it was time to try it out for the summer.

The Jeep did well, and I was so happy just to have something to go to events with and have a good time. But after winter set in, it was time to tear it down and do what I really wanted to do!

RosserI added.... 4.56 R&P's , ARB air lockers front and rear, another 2" of body lift, Moser one piece axles in the rear, Headman headers with Flow Tec Purple Hornie mufflers, Mean Green gear reduction starter, a second ARB compressor for tires, an additional Quick Air 2 compressor with tank for tools, Ramsey Pro Plus 9000, welded in cage, BFG 35" Mud Terrains, American Racing 15x10 black steel wheels, PIAA lights, Thinline auto transmission cooler, Hella CJ upgrade headlights, Steel horse super seats with RJS 4 point harnesses, Desert steel 22 gallon fuel tank with skid plate, Currie shackles, Painless Wiring 7 circut fuse center for accessory wiring, Optima 800U red top, Olympic Rock front bumper with 2" receiver, JKS inverted tie rod and drag link kit. I stripped the Jeep down, spray-linded the inside, 2 new front fenders, and a new windshield frame, and put a new coat of Ensign Blue paint on the whole body.

RosserI will never be finished. This winter I plan to remove the 30 from the front and the 20 fronm the rear and go with a pair of Dana 44 axles with an Atlas II tansfer case or a DANA 300 t-case. Plus, the possibility of adding the Saturn over drive to the 3 speed should give me a little better ride on the road.
